This consultation provides an opportunity for interested parties to comment on the proposal to introduce, by way of Regulations, a permanent 50mph speed limit to the slip roads on the M42 at junction 3.
The M42 junction 3 slip roads have been running at a temporary 50mph speed limit following the completion of the M42 junction 3 Improvement scheme in early 2020. We're now proposing to make the 50mph speed limit permanent and will be holding a consultation regarding our proposals from 7 March 2022 to 4 April 2022.
We want to hear from everybody who may be affected by these proposals, including how it could affect you, your organisation or those you represent. We would also like to hear any concerns you may have about this speed limit reduction.

Once in force, the relevant Regulations will restrict driving at a speed exceeding that displayed on the signs.
